Being part of this annual melting pot is always a highlight for MCI, but this year felt truly special. The collaboration between MCI and Studio Detailine culminated in Breath of Space, an installation that reimagined natural stone not just as a rigid material, but as a living, breathing element of design.

Breath of Space invited visitors to experience stone in a completely new way, fluid, dynamic, and full of life, showing that design is as much about imagination as it is about material.

Grigio Paradisio and Cristallo Amber Onyx come together in A Breath of Space, each bringing a distinct material presence to the installation.

The upper and lower arms mirror one another in form, held in delicate balance by tension and precision. Between them, the glowing gap radiates light through Cristallo Amber Onyx, transforming the space in between into a quiet pulse.

Here, materials coexist not in resistance, but in dialogue. The structure stands not because one element dominates, but because each depends on the other, reflecting how ecosystems survive through balance, relationship, and trust.
